For those who have been out of the loop, here are some key points to know about the Clone Wars. The Clone Wars began in 22 BBY, with the Battle of Geonosis. This battle was fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The battle would end with the Republic winning and the Separatists being driven off. The Clone Wars were led by the Galactic Republic and it's Grand Army of the Republic. They were led by Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. They were often at odds with each other, with Obi-Wan believing that Anakin was too reckless and Anakin believing that Obi-Wan was too cautious. In 19 BBY, Palpatine issued Order 66. This order ordered all clone troopers to execute their Jedi generals. Obi-Wan was killed by his own clone troopers, but Anakin managed to escape to a remote planet. In 18 BBY, Anakin betrayed the Jedi Order and Palpatine. He was convinced to do so by Palpatine who showed him a vision of Padme dying in childbirth. He turned on Obi-Wan and killed him, as well as many other Jedi. In 16 BBY, Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. He was told by Palpatine that he would need to wear the suit for life. The Clone Wars lasted for three years before ending in 19 BBY.
